Flaunteur

Effective August 30, 2026

Privacy Policy

Flaunteur is a place to show, discover, discuss, buy, offer, and trade the things people are proud to have. This policy explains what information we handle, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies when you visit flaunteur.com, create an account, publish a flaunt, use messages or discussions, make an offer or trade proposal, connect a seller payout account, request shipping rates, purchase a flaunt, report content, or otherwise use Flaunteur.

Information you give us

We process information you choose to submit, including early-access applications, your name, email address, broad location, sign-in identity, profile details, category preferences, flaunts, media, provenance files, offers, trade proposals, messages, discussions, reports, private seller ship-from and parcel details, buyer delivery contact and address details, and communications with support. Payment-card, bank-account, identity-verification, and tax details entered in Stripe's hosted services are handled by Stripe rather than Flaunteur.

Information collected through use

We may record device and browser data, IP address, sign-in and security events, pages and flaunts viewed, searches, saved items, interactions, recommendation history, and approximate timestamps. Sign-in partners and service providers may also give us information needed to authenticate you, deliver the service, prevent fraud, and diagnose problems.

How and why information is used

  • Provide accounts, profiles, uploads, discovery, messaging, offers, purchases, and trades.
  • Personalize categories, feeds, and recommendations, including when you reset your recommendation history.
  • Protect people, moderate content, investigate reports, prevent fraud, and maintain an audit trail.
  • Send confirmations, security notices, account messages, and support replies.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and establish or defend legal claims.
  • Measure and improve reliability, accessibility, safety, and the Flaunteur experience.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with law, depending on the activity.

What other people can see

Public profiles, flaunts, media, hashtags, provenance items marked for viewing, and public discussions can be seen by visitors, shared by link, and indexed by search engines. Private conversations are limited to their participants and authorized moderators, but no online communication should be treated as absolutely confidential. Do not upload home addresses, signatures, financial details, identification numbers, or confidential documents.

Payments and shipping providers

When you use secure checkout, Stripe processes the payment and connected-seller payout and may collect identity, tax, bank, device, and fraud-prevention information under Stripe's privacy terms. Shippo and the selected carrier receive the sender, recipient, parcel, rate, label, and tracking information needed to quote and deliver the shipment. We receive transaction, payout-readiness, label, and tracking status needed to operate the order desk, but not your full card or bank credentials.

When information is shared

We share information with infrastructure, storage, authentication, email, payment, shipping, carrier, security, analytics, and support providers only as needed to run Flaunteur. If you choose Google, Apple, or Microsoft sign-in, that provider handles information under its own privacy policy. We may disclose information to comply with law, protect people or rights, investigate misuse, or support a business reorganization. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Cookies and similar technology

Flaunteur uses cookies or local storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, and core service functions. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by law.

Retention, security, and international processing

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, preserve order, receipt, payout, label, tracking, dispute, and audit records, satisfy safety, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and account status. Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to safeguards required by applicable law. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can update your profile and interests, reset recommendations, hide or delete eligible content, or stop using the service. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy decision. We may verify your identity before completing a request. To make a request, email contact@flaunteur.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.

Children and teenagers

Flaunteur is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has used the service, contact us so we can investigate and delete information where appropriate. People under 18 should use Flaunteur with a parent or guardian’s awareness and must not arrange purchases, sales, offers, trades, or in-person meetings without their involvement.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Flaunteur changes. We will post the current effective date and provide additional notice when required. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@flaunteur.com.
